Frequently asked questions
Which Wisconsin cities have the biggest hotels?
Wisconsin Dells leads the state, with properties like Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park Resort (1700 rooms) and Chula Vista Resort, Trademark Collection by Wyndham (617 rooms). Milwaukee also offers sizable options, including Hilton Milwaukee (729 rooms). These cities tend to attract the properties with the most rooms because they draw both business and leisure travelers year-round.
Why book a big hotel for a statewide conference or company event in Wisconsin?
A hotel with hundreds of rooms can house your entire group under one roof, which simplifies logistics and keeps everyone on the same schedule. Many properties at this scale offer meeting and event space (varies by property), so sessions, meals, and lodging stay in one place. Consolidated billing through Engine means one invoice instead of tracking receipts from scattered bookings.
How do I book a block of rooms for a large team traveling anywhere in Wisconsin?
For a stay of nine or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking. For eight rooms or fewer, you can search, compare, and book self-serve on the platform. Either way, Engine offers pre-negotiated rates, consolidated invoicing, and no membership fee.
How far in advance should I book rooms at a large Wisconsin hotel for a group?
Sixty to ninety days out gives you a better shot at availability and rates, especially if your dates overlap with a popular season or city event. Properties with hundreds of rooms do turn over inventory faster, but booking early still locks in your block and avoids last-minute scrambling. If your group needs specific floors or adjacent rooms, lead time makes that easier to arrange.
What size hotel counts as one of the biggest in Wisconsin?
The properties that lead the list range from around 600 rooms to 1700 rooms. Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park Resort in Wisconsin Dells has 1700 rooms, making it the top property you can book through Engine in the state. Hotels at this scale can accommodate large groups, multiple teams, or back-to-back events without running out of space.
