Conferences, corporate events, and group travel drive much of the demand for hotels with large room counts, and Ohio's biggest properties are spread across cities like Columbus and Sandusky. Columbus hosts a wide range of business and convention activity, which keeps demand for large room blocks steady throughout the year. These hotels serve organizations of every size and industry that need to book rooms for a meeting, training, or team trip, not any single type of traveler. Engine lists these properties alongside the rest of the state's inventory, and Engine Groups handles bookings of 9 or more rooms, while smaller stays can be booked self-serve on the platform.
Frequently asked questions
How far in advance should I book a large hotel in Ohio for a group event?
For a block of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the booking, and starting 60 to 90 days out gives you the best selection at properties like Hilton Columbus Downtown or Hyatt Regency Columbus. For 8 rooms or fewer, you can book self-serve on the platform. Earlier is better during peak seasons or when you need specific dates at a high-capacity property.
How does billing work if my team books hotels in multiple Ohio cities throughout the year?
Engine offers consolidated invoicing, so you get one invoice covering bookings across Columbus, Sandusky, or any other city in the state. You also have multiple payment options and no membership fee. That setup simplifies accounting when your travelers stay at different properties over time.

Columbus leads with properties like Hilton Columbus Downtown (1000 rooms) and Hyatt Regency Columbus (633 rooms). Sandusky also has large capacity, including Cedar Point's Hotel Breakers with 650 rooms. Other cities across the state offer smaller inventories, but those three properties anchor the top of the list.
Can I book the largest hotels in Ohio for just one or two travelers, or are they only for groups?
The biggest hotels in Ohio work for individual business travelers and groups alike. You can search, compare, and book a single room at Hilton Columbus Downtown or Hyatt Regency Columbus on Engine. Large properties often mean more availability and amenities, which can benefit solo bookings as much as team travel.
What room count makes a hotel one of the biggest in Ohio?
